Expanding the home-cooked flavours to include something different because it's already June. That said, after this, it's time to officially bring out the National Dishes because people need to have a taste of Singapore's National Favourites and leave Austria with no reGraz!
Here's the final post from the "Explosion of Home-Cooked Flavours in Graz" series. From between 1st and 16th June, excluding 3rd to 9th June because I was travelling in Deutschland then.
Certainly looks like I've bloated up a little bit, but trust me, I haven't. I'm still as boney as ever... Just the loose clothes and awkward sitting position playing tricks.
Trying out a Fish Omelette of some sort... Tasted pretty good except for the fact that the fish was cui (literally 脆 as in it just sort of "disintegrated" when you eat it. Austria doesn't seem to have good quality fish which is just sad...)
Giuseppe's Sugo Spaghetti is a tough one to emulate.
Japanese Curry in the making :)
Japanese Curry Chicken with potatoes and carrots served with steamed rice
Sweet Corn, Green Peas and Mushrooms make a rather sweet combination. Still not getting the thickness of the soup right though.
Another dessert from Bulgaria. This time, it's got a marmalade with plums!
A return back to the kitchen after a week away in Germany and I've finally got the thickness right! Here, it's the same combination of Sweet Corn, Green Peas but the sweet onions have replaced the mushrooms.
Another one of my Carbonara variant. Bacon has been replaced by the "not as tasty" chicken pieces and long beans have come in too (an absolute fail by Italian terms because you can't add veggies to Carbonara). But hey, I'm just trying out something different.
Penne in Tomato Soup base and beans again. Decided to do a soup-based version of the previous. Can't help with adding the beans though :P
Not sure what to call this. It's sort of a hybrid but maybe it's just too much variation with the Carbonara recipe. There are mushrooms here with green peas, sweet corn and CHILLI! Wasn't the least bit spicy though. Need to seriously up the spiciness!
After an overload of pasta for the past week, it's back to rice again. A stew of some sort, but to me, it's just another gravy-loaded dish that has a mix of veggies with some minced meat. The gravy base was Thai curry sauce but it was given a proper spicy boost with extra spicy dried chilli flakes added in during the "stewing" process.
