SketchBook® Singapura 🇸🇬

Majulah Singapura!

There was a time when people said that Singapore won’t make it but WE did! We did it because we came together as one United Singapore to build it from a swamp to a metropolis.

This year, there’s a genuine National Day spirit around Singapore. Maybe it’s because of the #SG50 initiatives (which some may have bordered on excessive) or maybe it’s simply because everyone is just proud that Singapore has come this far and done so well in such a short space of time.

A year on since I last pulled out the S Pen for a sketch on Sketchbook... Last year it was the State Flag Flypast above Marina Bay Sands for SG49. For ‪SG50‬, the first sketch is of one of two Singapore Airlines Airbus A380s that features a ‪#‎Singapore‬ flag-themed design on its fuselage.

Spent most of this week working on the 2 National Day sketches. My 2nd little gift for Singapore’s 50th birthday 🎁 is a re-imagination of the photo I took from 2012 beside the Merlion. It has the Singapore Airlines plane from the 1st sketch incorporated into it.

I am proud to call myself a Singaporean. I am proud of this little red dot for this is Home, truly! 🏠

Happy Birthday Singapore! Majulah Singapura!
